Learn more about JMIS below

The John Molson Investment Society (JMIS) is a group of students sharing a passion for finance and capital markets. This society arranges regular seminars, academic sessions, events, and competitions to help students bridge the gap between the classroom and the industry.

Led by JMIS Executives, these seminars focus on guiding students through the essential steps for securing a position in Capital Markets and enhancing their technical financial knowledge. Guest Speaker Careers

Analyst Program

The JMIS Analyst Program aims to offer select students the opportunity to go beyond their finance classes and apply their knowledge to investment opportunities with support from Associates. Students with no prior experience may apply as Analysts and those wishing to gain further experience may apply as Senior Analysts.

The program has been in place for multiple years and has led to students entering school investment programs and capital markets positions.

Alternatives Conference

JMIS hosts a weekend conference where students get the opportunity to hear from multiple panels of industry professionals as they discuss the state of various asset classes. Panelists also share about their backgrounds and what led them to pursue their roles across Alternative Investments. Students have the opportunity to network with professionals and the wider JMIS community during the event.

The Alternatives Event this year is scheduled for March 27, 2024 and will feature panels covering topics such as private equity, infrastructure investments, hedge fund strategies, and private credit. To ensure you don't miss any updates about the event, please keep an eye on our social media channels.
